Best time of year to visit Tunisia

As it is deadly hot in the summer and extremely chilly in the winter, the best time to visit Tunisia is between March and May or September to November. The country is less busy during these months and the weather is oh so sweet.

Get busy with camping in the Sahara desert or exploring Chott el Jerid lake. These places offer a spectacular experience during spring and autumn months. Torrid Tunisian summer should be spent on the beach, chilling and swimming. Sunscreen and a hat are must-haves to protect your skin and head from the aggressive sun.

The weather from December through February can be a bit unpredictable with possible strong, cold winds and freezing rain. The Atlas Mountains tend to get covered in snow. This period is pure heaven for birdwatchers as the chances of discovering rare bird species in the stillness of winter become a lot higher.
