Fox Lake, located 55 miles (89 km) northwest of downtown Chicago, is a great summer playground for Chicagoans. The Chain O’Lakes, connecting Pistakee Lake, Nippersink Lake, and Fox Lake, is also a perfect place to celebrate the 4th of July thanks to great recreation and an array of fun events in Lake County.
Celebrate Fox Lake is a vibrant community festival, which includes a parade, a free concert in the park, and of course fireworks. The celebration starts with a parade on Grand Avenue at 11 am. Festivities at Lakefront Park, at the northwest end of Nippersink Lake, start at 5 pm. Attendees can enjoy live music and various entertainment. Food, beer, and soda are also available.
Another great way to spend the 4th of July in Fox Lake is to get on the water. Dozens of decorated boats and floats on Nippersink Lake create an especially festive and relaxed atmosphere. The night ends with a spectacular Fox Lake firework show over Nippersink Lake!
