Beach Season Featured in
Besides a nice summer tan, Romanian Black Sea resorts have a lot to offer during the beach season. The coast that stretches from Mamaia to Mangalia boasts numerous vineyards, ancient Greek architectural monuments, thermal and mud spas, and much more. In the breaks between swimming and sunbathing one can also engage in plenty of water activities such as sailing, windsurfing and kite surfing, jet skiing, water skiing, kayaking, or go on a cruise or excursion.
The most popular Romanian resort is Mamaia, located to the north of Constanta. If you are looking for a vibrant clubbing scene, lots of entertainment, and great restaurants, this is the place to go. However, it can get rather crowded in the summer. If you prefer to be in a quiet place, choose smaller towns near the Bulgarian border, like Vama Veche—a favorite spot for many locals. The beach season begins in June, and the sea waters are still warm enough to enjoy a swim in September.
